The Colorado House of Prayer (CHOP) in conjunction with Watchmen Coffee is pleased to offer internship programs for future ministry leaders beginning in the fall of 2025.

Ministry:

The Colorado House of Prayer is a dedicated space for intercessory prayer and worship in Fort Collins Colorado. CHOP aims to have 24/7 prayer and worship to glorify God and change the spiritual climate of our nation. CHOP raises up and sends worship leaders throughout the world.

Watchmen Coffee is part of the Colorado House of Prayer and aims to serve the needs of weary and struggling Christians throughout the region. The Coffee Shop is only a few blocks from the Colorado State University campus and a few blocks from the historic old town. The Coffee House has an extensive resource library, full time ministry partners and is connected to the House of Prayer. The goal of the Coffee House is to:

  1. Provide spiritual protection for God’s weary Pilgrims. Watchmen is a place to unload your burdens at the door.
  2. Heal the wounds leftover by the world. We not only provide protection but also recovery through counseling, prayer and discipleship. Watchmen is a place to rest and heal.
  3. Send God’s Pilgrims back out on their journey equipped with knowledge and the armor of God.

Responsibilities:

The internship program involves serving in both the Watchmen Coffee Shop and leading prayer and worship in the Colorado House of Prayer. The interns will divide their time between the following responsibilities:

  • Four hours per day working in the Watchmen Coffee House
    • Responsible primarily for praying for, counseling and equipping the patrons.
    • Responsible for preparing and serving coffee
    • This is the first year the coffee shop will be open so there will probably be additional needs as well
    • Groundskeeping, tending may be included
  • Two hours per day in prayer and worship through CHOP
    • Personal time with God in the prayer house praying over what He leads
    • Ideal candidates would lead worship at the front of the house for one of the two hours.
  • Ten hours per week for certification program, self-guided study, worship practice and coursework
  • Occasional event coordination
    • You may be asked to lead worship nights, lead story time for young moms, host other ministry events or even decide to lead something of your own!
  • Occasional team-building activity

These hours are flexible based on needs and abilities. We want you to bring your heart to CHOP so you are also free to help guide new events and ideas that God puts on your heart.

Benefits:

Interns graduate with certifications of their choice as well as real world experience with evangelism and church ministry leading. Best of all, CHOP provides a fundraising vehicle for future ministry leaders to get their ministry off the ground. Whether you choose to stay with CHOP and Watchmen after your internship or not, we help you to develop and then transfer a support network.

Interns for one year also have the option to graduate with certificates in Biblical education from nearby or online Bible college as well as additional certificates in worship leading and ministry leading which can be used to move into full time church roles after the internship.

Interns are eligible to serve on international mission trips through Watchmen Coffee at the end of the program.

Housing is provided near campus. Coffee and breakfast are provided daily through Watchmen. Pay is bi-weekly and is variable based on fundraised amount. Minimum fundraising goal for an individual is outlined in the “Price” section.

Fort Collins has rated among the best places to live in the United States for multiple years running. Below is a picture of the building. The shop is still under construction but will be open this fall upon your arrival!

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated heart for ministry through your personal life
  • Worship leading ability is desired but not required
  • Barista ability is desired but not required
  • Must be able to demonstrate 1 Timothy principals for spiritual leadership
  • Must agree with the statements of faith and attend church service regularly

Statement of Faith

  • God our Father is great and He is good. He is our all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present Creator and is holy, perfect in every way. He is loving, faithful and just. God the Father adopts as His own all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. He hears and answers prayer.
  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God is the Savior of the world. Eternally together with His Father and the Holy Spirit, all things have been created by Him and for Him. Through the incarnation, Jesus became man and was born of the virgin Mary. He lived a perfect, sinless life. He gave His life and shed His blood as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead and is ascended to the right hand of the Father until He comes again to judge the living and the dead.
  • The Holy Spirit is God and dwells in every believer. He was poured out upon the church to convict of sin, lead us into the truth, glorify Jesus, and testify of His greatness. The Spirit gives us spiritual gifts and makes us more like Christ. Jesus baptizes us in the Holy Spirit to empower us to be His witnesses and to live a holy life.
  • Salvation is by grace through faith. It is a gift from God, not a result of good works or human effort. Because all men have sinned and are separated from God and face eternity in Hell, Jesus Christ alone can provide salvation through His cross and resurrection. Each person who by faith repents of their sin and receives Christ as personal Savior is justified by the blood of Jesus; they are born again of the Holy Spirit and receive eternal life in heaven.
  • The Bible is God’s Word and the final authority for all faith and practice. The Scriptures are fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, infallible, and without error. Through His Word, God reveals Himself and His plan of redemption for man through Jesus Christ. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard.
